Deskripsi Singkat
Penggunaan switched reluctance motor sebagai salah satu tipe motor listrik DC banyak digunakan karena awet, kuat, efisiensi tinggi, tingkat perawatan rendah, dan tanpa magnit permanen. Tetapi konverter daya untuk komutasi tergolong rumit dan mahal karena butuh 6 unit MOSFET (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor), dioda free-wheeling, sensor dan kontrol PWM (pulsed width modulation).
Inovasi ini menggunakan prinsip komutasi natural yang dihasilkan dari sumber tegangan AC 220 volt tiga fasa dan tiga unit dioda semikonduktor. Hasil pengujian prototype menunjukan pada beban daya 900 W, motor listrik ini berputar stabil pada kecepatan 750 rpm. Biaya operasional lebih murah, karena tidak membutuhkan konverter daya seperti pada switched reluctance motor.

Short Description
Switched Reluctance Motor is widely used because of its durability, power, simple construction and without permanent magnet. However, power converter for commutation is complex and expensive. The innovation uses natural commutation that generated from the three-phase AC 220 V voltage source and the three units of semiconductor diodes. The prototype test result shows that at 900 W load, the electric motor can maintain a stable speed of 750 rpm by using the natural commutation of AC electricity.
